Skills White Paper - 22nd March 2005
Continuing Professional Development is crucial for everyone. Time is also very precious! We have put this page together to help you to keep your finger on the pulse and minimise the time spent trawling websites.
Part of keeping up to date is to understand exactly what initiatives the Government is working on.
Maureen Scholefield has been networking and has a detailed understanding of this area. She is involved in the South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) Regional Skills for Productivity Alliance.
On 22 March 2005, the Department
for Education and Skills published the White Paper. This
White Paper builds on the Government’s first national Skills
Strategy, published in July 2003. The principles and direction of
the original Skills Strategy remains the same. However, the skills challenge
is still great and the White Paper sets out how the Government intends
to ensure that employers have the right skills to support the success
of their businesses. It also seeks to help individuals gain the skills
they need to be employable and personally fulfilled.
