- UK Commission for Employment & Skills (UKCES) was formed in April 2008 as a result of a key recommendation in Lord Leitch's 2006 review Prosperity for All in the Global Economy: World Class Skills. On 14th July
the UK Commission's first-year business plan, outlining the organisation's objectives and the projects which will be carried out over the course of the year; and the relicensing process for Sector Skills Councils (SSCs), which all SSCs will have to go through prior to receiving a renewed licence to practice. - It's official - Investors in People can boost your performance and profit. The recently published report - People and the Bottom Line.
The project began in 2004, when Investors in People UK (IIP UK) together with the Sector Skills Development Agency (SSDA) now The Alliance of Sector Skills Councils, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Department for Education and Skills (DFES) now Department for Innovation, Universities & Skills (DIUS) began drawing together evidence of the links between skills and organisational performance.
