Team Briefings

Team Briefing is a powerful method of enabling communications up and down the management structure of any organisation with a number of management levels. Team Briefing was developed by the British Industrial Society (now called the Work Foundation) during the mid-20th century, particularly the 1960's, and introduced in the mid 1970's. This workshop explores how Team Briefing works, provide examples of the Team Briefing documents (that can be made bespoke to delegates’ organisations) and allows delegates to practice the technique in a series of practical sessions based on realistic scenariois.
Aim:
To introduce delegates to effective techniques of team briefing and to practice these, so that they can adapt the process to suit their own organizations and optimise the power of effective team briefing.
Objectives:
By the end of this workshop delegates will be able to:
- Describe the details of the process of team briefing (a re commended approach)
- Identify pitfalls to be overcome and potential blockages to communication
- Design supporting documentation to the process of team briefings bespoke to their organizations
- Practice various approaches to team briefing and decide on which method is best for their organisation
- State a number of methods to use in order to quash the ‘rumour mill’
Methods:
This one day workshop will be highly participative and will include the planning, delivery and follow up of a team briefing.
