Executive Coaching - our approach
It is well recognised that we all benefit from 1 to 1 support to develop to our full potential. Sometimes it takes someone with an interested but slightly detached view of our personal strengths and development areas to help us move out of our comfort zones. Perhaps not quite as drastic as our picture on the left indicates but a shift from safe behaviours into previously untried ones! This is what Executive Coaching aims to do!
Cullen Scholefield has extensive experience of developing people to support strategic and organisational objectives, usually set against a background of change. We have a wide-ranging portfolio of achievement with emphasis on coaching and mentoring leaders of organisations to achieve success.
Cullen Scholefield hold organisational membership of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC), which enables us to play an active role in setting standards of best practice across the network of providers of coaching services.
Our approach
We are very pragmatic in our approach to Executive Coaching. The following points would need to be resolved at the start of the project:
- Commitment from all parties to commence the initial interviews
- Identification of the desired areas of change in behavioural terms
- Identification of psychometrics such as Myers Brigg Type Indicator, Hogan - the Dark Side, Emotional Intelligence or other diagnostic tools designed to enhance self awareness
- Time to interview the manager’s sponsor to establish their perceptions of the development identified and/or the behaviours identified as desirable
- Agreement from all parties on the way forward
- Acceptance from all parties on what information will be shared and what will be kept confidential from either party
- What is the expected pay back?
- What milestones are required from the manager’s and sponsor’s points of view
