Executive Coaching and Mentoring

There are times when it is very lonely being a senior manager.  This is where having a totally unbiased mentor is valuable as it gives the manager or director access to a totally confidential sounding board.  We are able to challenge set ways of thinking and encourage our clients to 'think outside the box' or in some cases, we help them focus!

Sometimes a senior manager's performance falls below their previously high standard.  This may be evidenced in a sudden drop in overall performance or by a lack of performance in one or more areas of their role.

Our approach to executive development where performance is lacking begins with a diagnosis to identify the actual short falls.  The diagnosis is conducted on a one to one basis.  We identify the most appropriate tools to be used.  We may use psychometric test, the company competency framework or perhaps the Management Standards.  Following diagnosis we devise and agree an action plan and provide one to one support to address the development needs identified.

For the executive whose performance has suddenly dropped our first activity is to investigate the cause.  This may be that a new manager has different perceptions of the performance or that a previous manager ignored under achievement in some areas or there may be personal issues affecting performance.  We agree a budget, conduct the investigation and provide a report, with the permission of the executive, to the company.  Our recommendations may be a change of role, a development programme or if there was mutual agreement that an individual could not be 'put back on track' assistance in brokering an agreed release package.
